Dressing For Work When You Are Pregnant
Dressing for work when you are pregnant
Workwear - when to buy? Dressing for the office when expecting - for the first three months or so you'll probably be able to wear in the office, some of your usual clothes. As soon as the word on your pregnancy is out, this is the ideal opportunity to dress the part at work. The best way forward is to invest in a few key clothing essentials in complimentary shades i.e. dress, skirt, top, jacket and trousers or leggings. It is sensible at this time to shop for properly designed workwear as it is designed to provide support just where you and your baby needs it. This will create the foundation of your wardrobe over the next few months, which can be mixed and matched where possible with non-pregnancy items. So there you have it - workwear - you've started dressing for work when you are expecting.
Business suits for expectant women
Once you begin to show your baby bump you may well need to invest in a good quality business suit. Laura, one of our customers, who works in the city, meeting high profile clients, told us During my current pregnancy I prefer a suit jacket with skirt as I feel more feminine and professional,
she says. Maternity skirts, I find them more comfortable for me, personally, because my bump is growing quickly.
Clothing for formal occasions
To accompany the suit jacket, how about the iconic little black dress? Summer or winter it is one of those must-haves for your wardrobe. Black, also, is slimming, safe and can be very feminine. A touch of Audrey Hepburn is the perfect solution for a special function.
Accessories
Pashminas and wraps are great accessories. They dress your bump and become the focus of attention so that you can wear something low cut or sleeveless, allowing you to feel more adequately covered if you should desire.
To complete your outfit, jewellery, bags and belts, will play an important part too.
