Business to Business Richard Farleigh, meeting a former BBC Dragon!
Zoe Alexander UK Maternity attended the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Business to Business 2012 Event and had the pleasure of meeting the charming and charismatic Richard Farleigh whom we all know as the lovely Aussie Dragon that appeared on BBC’s Dragons’ Den. Not only were they treated to Richard’s accounts of the various businesses he has been involved in but they had the benefit of one to one questions and answers as well as the opportunity to meet him personally after his presentation.
Richard has invested in a wide variety of businesses over the years and through hard work, determination and discipline has built up a portfolio to give him a networth of around £66 million. By the age of 34 he had amassed sufficient wealth to retire. Hats off to that! He is on the Business Review Weekly Rich 200 List, a list of the top 200 wealthiest Australian individuals.
His advice for businesses going through those early years was extremely well received by the audience of business owners, directors and associates. He tackled all sorts of business types from tennis racquets to diamond mining explaining how so many factors can influence how businesses grow and how difficult it is to predict which would be global leaders and which that would struggle. He gave the audience the harsh realities of business explaining the highs and lows, the successes and failures he has had to face, unlike many successful entrepreneurs who rarely discuss their unsuccessful ventures!
